Is this the world’s stupid title for an article? Maybe…

The word Obama appears once in the entire article as the author uses the label Obama-era recovery. There isn’t another mention of anything specific to Obama, his administration, their descision or even include any comparison to attendance numbers before 2009.

Just another redneck attempt to link anything and everything undesirable to Obama. Can’t you see the morons linking to this now…

Hey Zeek! Obama is killing NASCAR!

LMAO, I seriously hope this article was posted as a joke because I got a pretty good laugh. Not even sure what my favorite part was:

1) It’s from the Weekly Standard. Need I say more?
2) The statistics the article sites come from “the pro-market think tank Public Notice and Race Fans 4 Freedom”. Race Fans 4 Freedom?
3) The author, Michael Warren’s, biography reads: “Michael Warren is a reporter at The Weekly Standard.” Wow, really? Thanks for the background info.
4) The quote from the founder of Race Fans 4 Freedom stating, “the NASCAR nation is a “great snapshot” of the country as a whole.” Maybe, if by country you mean the checkout line at a Walmart.

I can’t imagine how I could possibly go on living if there were no more NASCAR. //

I admit to watching NASCAR at times. However, things have changed from since I was a kid.

Watching a NASCAR race from the grandstands is extremely boring. Sitting at home watching on TV is much better. Look at the crowd at the race, many of fans wear headsets so they can hear what is going on. Without the headset you miss out on most everything and have to find out later “wha happened?”

The TV coverage has gotten so much better with the telemetry data, the on board cameras, the replays of all the important action, the breakdown of the action in the pits.

When you are there in the stands, you miss all the side stories and the breakdowns and updates. So the ones who want to party and drink may still go to the race, but the hardcore fans know that the best seat is in your living room watching on HD.

Of all the sports, NASCAR is number 1 for being more entertaining on TV. I think that is another reason people are staying away. The TV coverage has come so far.
